ValueOptions® Chief Medical Officer, Commercial Division and Senior Vice President, Regional Medical Director, Christopher Dennis, MD, MBA, has been appointed to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Standards Committee.
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality through organizational accreditation and certification. The Standards Committee supports the development of new and revised accreditation standards for Managed Behavioral Healthcare Organizations
(MBHOs), health plans and others, entities.
“At ValueOptions, we steward excellent behavioral health care, and we consistently innovate and improve our operational practices to help people lead their lives to the fullest potential,” said Dr. Dennis, “NCQA is a vital contributor to the industry, so it is an honor to join the Standards Committee as we continue to raise the bar for quality within the behavioral health care system.”
Dennis joins Pamela Greenberg, M.P.P., President and CEO of the Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness (ABHW) who has served as a liaison to the Standards Committee for many years. Together they bring 29 years of experience in behavioral health and managed care experience to the Committee.
“ABHW is a big proponent of the NCQA mission. We work very hard to align our own organization with the goals and the standards that NCQA introduces to the marketplace,” added Greenberg.
