Dr. Niku Singh, medical director at TMS NeuroHealth Centers in Tysons Corner has been being included in the Washingtonian Magazine's "Top Doctors" for 2012. The award is based on feedback from a questionnaire sent to thousands of physicians in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, which asked, “If someone in your family were sick, whom would you call?”

TMS NeuroHealth Centers is part of a national network of centers offering TMS Therapy, a non-drug treatment for depression. TMS Therapy is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive medical treatment for patients suffering from depression without any of the side effects typically experienced with antidepressant medication such as weight gain, sexual problems, or fatigue.

The method uses highly focused magnetic pulses to gently stimulate the area of the brain that controls mood. This targeted location has been identified as underactive in people who suffer from depression. Stimulation leads to the release of chemical neurotransmitters, therefore, relieving the symptoms of depression.

In addition to Singh’s Top Doctor award, he maintains a 5-Star rating on and has received the Patient’s Choice Award for 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.
