Sunspire Health has opened its new Heartland treatment facility for substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders in Gilman, Ill. This is the 10th facility in the organization’s portfolio.

Built on 32 acres, Heartland will provide integrated care for adult men and women, including evidence-based clinical interventions, supported by medication assisted treatment in residential and outpatient settings.

Private equity firm Kohlberg & Company acquired majority ownership of Sunspire Health in June 2015. The organization has since added new and acquired facilities with others in the pipeline, including a center in Key Largo, Fla.
