Summit BHC acquires Arizona treatment center

Summit BHC announced it has acquired Women in New Recovery in Mesa, Ariz. The addiction treatment center will operate as Canyon Vista Recovery Center and treat men and women. It is Summit’s first treatment facility in Arizona and 12th overall.

Licensed for 30 beds as an outpatient treatment center, Canyon Vista offers structured residential programming as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient addiction treatment for adults.

Summit BHC was founded in 2013 and now operates in eight states. Its headquarters are located in Franklin, Tenn.

Mertz Taggart, a healthcare services merger and acquisition firm specializing in behavioral health, served as the sell-side advisor in the deal. It was the firm’s 11th behavioral health transaction since 2015. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
