Mountain View, Calif. — Omnicell, Inc., a provider of medication and supply management solutions and analytics software for healthcare facilities, has announced that it has been been selected byRiverView Health (Crookston, Minn.) to enhance medication safety, reduce errors and improve clinician efficiency.

RiverView Health is an independent, community-owned healthcare organization that consists of a 25-bed critical access hospital, a 70-bed long-term care facility, a 52-bed chemical dependency treatment center, home care, laboratory services, rehabilitation, community outreach, and a number of primary and specialty care clinics. As one of the first healthcare organizations to install Omnicell's new fourth generation G4 platform solution, RiverView demonstrates how hospitals can enhance the quality of patient care regardless of size, budget or location, through the implementation of Omnicell's medication automation solutions.

The 25-bed critical access facility will be implementing Omnicell G4 OmniRx automated medication dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and SafetyStock to streamline management of medications in the emergency department and inpatient areas. The Omnicell ADCs will provide the critical access facility with an advanced and flexible automated dispensing system designed to monitor and control drug dispensing, improve regulatory compliance standards and reduce medication errors.

"Even though we are a critical access facility with limited resources, our patients still deserve the highest level of care afforded by the latest technology," said Jerry Lindsay, Pharmacy Director at RiverView Health. "Through our partnership with Omnicell, our clinicians now have access to industry-defining technology that reduces their administrative responsibilities so they can focus on what they do best—treat patients."

"Critical access hospitals are a valuable community resource for underserved patient populations in rural areas. Omnicell is proud to offer our customers the flexibility to tailor solutions to meet their unique needs in diverse care settings," said J. Christopher Drew, senior vice president, field operations for Omnicell. "Our medication management systems and tools are used to strategically empower clinicians at RiverView to extend their track record of providing the best care possible to their patients."
