New drug treatment center planned in Michigan

Lakeland HealthCare (St. Joesph, Mich.) and Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center, a behavioral health service provider with 12 locations in Eastern Michigan, have entered into an agreement "that is expected to result in the opening of a drug treatment center this summer," according to the South Bend Tribune

Under the agreement's terms, Sacred Heart would operate a 12-bed acute detoxification unit and a 20-bed short-term residential unit at the Lakeland Specialty Hospital facility in Berrien Center that would treat those recovering from addiction to drugs and alcohol.
