NAPHS elects 2012 board members

The National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) has announced that Blair Stam, executive vice president of Signature Healthcare Services in Corona, Calif., has started his term as the 2012 chair of the association's board of trustees.

Michele Gougeon, executive vice president and chief operating officer at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., was chosen to be chair-elect of the NAPHS Board of Trustees. Gougeon will become board chair at the conclusion of Stam’s 2012 term.

New members elected to the NAPHS Board of Trustees for three-year terms that began Jan. 1 are:

  • Bob Nykamp, vice-president & chief operating officer, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, Grand Rapids, Mich.;
  • Gail Ryder, vice president, BayCare Behavioral Health, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and
  • Jim Shaheen, founder/president, Strategic Behavioral Health, LLC, Memphis, Tenn.

The NAPHS Board includes 18 additional members representing the diversity of the NAPHS membership.
