US HealthVest this week announced that it has acquired Vista Medical Center in Waukegan, Ill., and plans to nearly triple its capacity. The facility, also previously known as Provena Saint Therese Medical Center, was last owned by Quorum Health Corp., and has provided behavioral healthcare services for more than 50 years.

The facility, which will be renamed Lake Behavioral Hospital, is currently licensed for 46 inpatient psychiatric beds, but will add 100 beds in a $30 million expansion. The project, slated to be completed by the fall of 2019, is expected to result in the creation of 150 jobs.

Lake Behavioral Hospital will become the third US HealthVest property in the Chicago area, joining Chicago Behavioral Hospital, a 138-bed facility in Des Plaines, and Silver Oaks Behavioral, a 100-bed joint venture with Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox that is in development.

The Treatment Center Executive & Marketing Retreat provides CEOs, CFOs, COOs, directors, senior marketing/business development/admissions leaders, and other executives with the tools they need to effectively and ethically grow their services in a rapidly changing market.
