RiverMend Health, an Atlanta-based behavioral health services provider, has announced the launch of a Christian addiction treatment center in nearby Marietta, Ga.

Atlanta Addiction Recovery Center (AARC) will provide treatment for adults with addiction and co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress. Stacy Seikel, MD, medical director for AARC, says in a news release that the center combines evidence-based methodology with Christian spiritual guidance. The center’s team, which includes nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed therapists and counselors, will incorporate Christian principles into treatment, although clients of all denominations and faiths are welcomed, according to the company.

Prayer, worship and a Biblical interpretation of the 12 Steps are made part of therapeutic activities. Holistic therapies such as yoga, meditation and art are also part of treatment.

Levels of care at AARC include: detoxification, outpatient, intensive outpatient services, partial hospitalization and a full-day treatment program.
