Paul Bacharach, a longtime health system executive in western Pennsylvania and Ohio, has been named president and CEO of the region’s renowned addiction treatment organization Gateway Rehabilitation Center, the addiction treatment facility announced this week.

Bacharach will succeed the retiring Kenneth S. Ramsey, PhD, whose long tenure of leadership at Gateway included overseeing substantial growth in the patient care operation and a broad reach across both privately and publicly funded treatment populations.

Bacharach is the former president and CEO of Fayette Regional Health System/Uniontown Hospital, and prior to that served in numerous leadership roles at hospitals in western Pennsylvania and Ohio. He was board chair of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania from 2010-2011.

Gateway board chairman Paul Sweeney said in a news release, “Paul brings the leadership, experience and vision Gateway Rehab now needs in order to thrive in the future. Health care is in an ambiguous era and we are confident Paul has the experience and skills to keep Gateway Rehab in the forefront of quality substance abuse treatment.”
