In a five-year leasing deal with New Orleans East Hospital, American Addiction Centers’ Townsend brand will provide detoxification and residential treatment services with 36 in-network beds on one floor of the hospital, according to an announcement from AAC Holdings, Inc. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

The 80-bed New Orleans East Hospital is operated by Louisiana Children's Medical Center and is accredited by Joint Commission. The new detox beds are expected to be operational in the first half of 2017, subject to licensure.

“This agreement is a new structure for us, and one that we believe can be replicated in other communities across the country. This additional inpatient detoxification and residential capacity enables us to support Townsend's inpatient and outpatient centers as well as other treatment providers in Louisiana,” said Michael Cartwright, chairman and CEO of AAC Holdings, in a statement.

The eight Townsend centers are located in southern Louisiana, offering residential and outpatient programs. AAC acquired Townsend and its in-network lab operations in December 2015.
