Nashville, Tenn. — Qualifacts Systems has been selected by Centerstone as its Electronic Health Records vendor, according to officials from both companies. Qualifacts’ web-based EHR, CareLogic Enterprise, will help Centerstone coordinate services for the more than 75,000 individuals and families it serves through its facilities in Indiana and Tennessee.

When Centerstone executives decided to upgrade the electronic health record across their 130 facilities, they spent several months evaluating potential partners and products.

“The CareLogic Enterprise platform has the strength to handle Centerstone's EHR and operational needs under a singular system umbrella, and it is flexible enough to support the complex catalog of services across our two states,” said Wayne Easterwood, chief information officer at Centerstone.

"This infrastructure supports our goals for tracking standardized outcomes across our entire patient population, embedding clinical decision support in workflows, and maximizing efficiency in our clinics throughout Middle Tennessee and Southern Indiana.”

For David Klements, president and CEO for Qualifacts, the mutually beneficial match between the two companies makes sense on many levels.

“At the end of the day Centerstone could choose to build or buy any EHR on the market, so its selection of CareLogic is tremendous validation of the value we’ve created and continue to create for behavioral health organizations,” said Klements. “Moreover, because ongoing enhancements to CareLogic are largely driven by customer input, we’re confident Centerstone’s deep EHR experience will have a positive impact on the entire CareLogic user community.”

Centerstone also chose Qualifacts to achieve meaningful use standards and enhance its ability to one day communicate and share patient information with other healthcare providers such as primary care physicians.

“As data-driven decision making, outcomes and real-time exchange of information become increasingly important during this era of healthcare reform, we are excited to collaborate with Centerstone Research Institute on innovative technology solutions to benefit current and future Qualifacts customers,” Klements said.
