Center for Discovery, an eating disorder residential treatment program for teens and adolescents struggling with anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder, has announced the appointment of Robyn Welk-Richards PhD, LCSW, MSW, to the position of Program Director of Center for Discovery Chicago.

Welk-Richards has been specializing in the treatment of eating disorders for nearly a decade. She obtained her PhD in Clinical Social Work in 2012 from Loyola University Chicago where she focused her research studies on residential treatment of eating disorders and quality of life.

Welk-Richards' intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy has provided her with a solid clinical foundation in treating adolescents and providing them with healthy alternatives to their eating disorder lifestyle. She has participated in various research projects and has given numerous presentations on the treatment of eating disorders at a number of public speaking engagements, both locally and nationally.

Mark Hobbins, President and COO of Center for Discovery, said, “We are pleased to have Dr. Welk-Richards deep eating disorder expertise to help our clients and families achieve long-term recovery. Our adolescent eating disorder program in Chicago will continue to be a center of excellence for treatment professionals, payers and families alike.”
