Advanced Recovery Systems (ARS), a behavioral healthcare management company founded in 2014, has acquired Blue Horizon Eating Disorder Services, a Florida-based organization specializing in the treatment of eating disorders.

Blue Horizon is licensed by the Agency for Health Care Administration and accredited by the Joint Commission. Programs offer a spectrum of treatment options and levels of care for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and related disorders. The intensive outpatient program and the partial hospitalization program provide group sessions, nutrition, individual and family sessions, meal processing, art, yoga and meditation. Programs are currently accepting men and women ages 9 through adult.

"We are looking forward to expanding their current services locally and working collaboratively to grow ARS' presence in the eating disorder field,” said Dr. Kevin Wandler, Advanced Recovery Systems chief medical officer, in a statement. “We recognize that not only is there a need for additional high quality eating disorder treatment options across the United States, but there is a wonderful opportunity to also increase and develop additional programming for our co-occurring addiction and eating disorder patients at our current facilities."
