Acadia acquires two Pa. facilities

Acadia Healthcare has acquired Pocono Mountain Recovery Center and Clearbrook Lodge in Pennsylvania. The deal brings a total of 201 beds to the Acadia portfolio. In its first quarter earnings call, Acadia officials said it had increased its beds by approximately 9,000 over the 12 months ended March 31, 2016.

Accredited by Joint Commission, the Pennsylvania centers treat adults with substance use disorders with a 12-Step and abstinence philosophy. Levels of care include detox, inpatient and outpatient as well as sober living. Mertz Taggart provided exclusive sell-side advisory services in the deal.

Meanwhile, Healthcare Design reports that Ochsner Health System and Acadia are partnering to convert a hospital building into an 82-bed behavioral health facility in LaPlace, La. Acadia will invest up to $18 million in the facility, which is expected to open in 2018.
