2014 NAPHS election results

On January 1, Gail Ryder began her term as the 2014 chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS). Ryder is vice president of BayCare Behavioral Health, Clearwater, Fla.

In election results released today, Lisa Shea, M.D., deputy medical director, Quality & Regulation, Butler Hospital, Providence, RI, was chosen board chair-elect and will become board chair at the conclusion of Ryder’s 2014 term.

New members elected to the NAPHS Board of Trustees for three-year terms that began January 1, 2014, are:

  • Daniel J. Body, M.B.A., J.D., F.A.C.H.E., network vice president, SSM Health Care - St. Louis, Wentzville, MO; 
  • Jeffrey W. Hillis, M.B.A., J.D., president, AdCare Hospital of Worcester, Inc., Worcester, MA;
  • Stephen Merz, F.A.C.H.E, vice president, administration, Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, New Haven, CT; and
  • E. Daniel Thomas, chief operating officer, Springstone, Inc., Louisville, KY.


The NAPHS Board includes 15 additional members representing the diversity of the NAPHS membership.
