Word has reached me that parity legislationcould pass Congress next week! I'm very excited, but one source has told me not to get
too excited; advocates still need to make sure that Republican senators will agree to the final version. And then, of course, it's up to President Bush.

I want to know your reactions, thoughts, ideas, and how you plan on celebrating in your organization if this historic legislation finally makes it across the finishline.
Drop me a note when you have the chance. We'll include your input online and in our print coverage.

So what was the outcome of the vote? How long will it take for parity to be adopted by medicare and third party payors?

There has not been a final vote yet, but I hope there will be this week. I am not sure how long it will take before the law will go into effect but this should be in the legislation (unless that decision is punted to CMS).
