I am disappointed that the Catholic Church is clinging to antiquated ideas of behavioral health disorders being related to moral failings. I read on MSNBC.com today that the Church now considers drug use as sinful behavior. Instead of finding ever more ways to punish people with substance abuse problems, why not focus on the role that religion can play in helping people recover?
