Here's the reporting protocol developed by the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention and Facebook.

Friday's story, Facebook adds 24/7 chat for suicide prevention  by Alison Knopf got me thinking . . . how do large social network sites like Facebook actually handle a report about a suicidal user?  Here are user instructions for the protocol that the National Suicide Prevention Hotline developed together with Facebook.  Thanks to David Covington, Vice President of Adult and Youth Services at Magellan of Arizona and a member of the National Actiona Alliance for Suicide Prevention, who provided a copy of this resource.
