NAPHS Releases Annual Survey
National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems has published the 2007
NAPHS Annual Survey which tracks behavioral healthcare delivery. One chapter looks at the changes from year to year in hospitals and residential treatment centers reporting over a two-year period. Another chapter gives a snapshot of all members’ experiences in 2006 and provides selected data by set-up-and-staffed bed categories to help organizations compare their own experiences to those of facilities of a similar size.
The survey shows a strong demand for behavioral health services and a great diversity of services, levels of care, and payer sources for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing mental and substance use disorders.

Security Software for Hard Drives
Centurion Technologies, a vendor of hard drive security solutions, has introduced CornerStone, security software for enterprise applications. CornerStone write-protects the user’s hard drive from permanent changes and restores the computer back to its original configuration settings set up during installation. The software shields the computer from “malware” and allows the organization to have high-level protection while maintaining individual user flexibility.
CornerStone accepts advanced remote management commands from Centurion’s Control Center (CCC), a remote management program for deployment, administration, and licensing of Centurion’s products. CCC allows administrators to register and transfer licenses, automate and customize deployment settings, establish auto updates of Centurion’s applications, auto schedule all control features, and program third-party updates.
