This morning at the National Conference of Addiction Disorders (NCAD), the 2013 Father Joseph C. Martin Award for Professional Excellence was presented to Jerry Moe, MA, MAC, Vice President, National Director of Children's Programs for the Betty Ford Center.
The Father Martin Award was first given in 2003 and was created to recognize professionals who demonstrate Father Martin's legacy of devotion to 12-Step recovery and helping the chemically addicted and their families.
Moe remarked upon receiving the award, “Father Martin was a hero to me. He treated alcoholics and addicts with dignity and respect and love. These are terribly important aspects of treating folks with addiction. I have modeled my clinical work after his and I'm humbled and honored to receive this award.”
