Behavioral Healthcare Executive is proud to announce the outstanding leaders who have been selected as 2018 Behavioral Healthcare Champions. These three individuals are being honored for their dedication to the field, as well as their commitment to influence positive change and help more people in treatment on their road to recovery. Through their business achievements, the Champions have also been successful in advancing the mission and vision of their respective organizations.

The 2018 Champions were selected from an outstanding collection of nominees, each of whom are making a difference in the development, delivery and effectiveness of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services. Drawing from their clinical backgrounds, each of this year’s honorees have proven they can expand treatment services, be responsive to the needs of the communities they serve, and provide strong leadership that fuels strategic growth.

The 2018 Behavioral Healthcare Champions are:

  • Rochelle Head-Dunham, executive director and medical director, Metropolitan Human Services District, New Orleans
  • Stephen Odom, CEO and chief clinical officer, New Vista Behavioral Health
  • David Vennes, executive director and CEO, NUWAY

Addiction professionals annually convene at the National Conference on Addiction Disorders to share what’s working: Clinicians hear from thought leaders on delivering treatment, while executives of behavioral healthcare organizations learn how to run more effective, more efficient, and ethically minded businesses.
