No product I can think of that both women and men purchase is more heavily influenced by women than healthcare. Every family has what I call a Chief Health & Wellness Officer driving these critical decisions — the vast majority of the time that is the female head of household. Even when they aren’t “head of household”, sisters, daughters and aunts are often involved in crucial healthcare decisions. It turns out there’s a similar dynamic on the organizational side of behavioral healthcare. From counselors, clinicians, marketing managers and treatment center executives, women are at the forefront of the behavioral healthcare industry forging a new path – one that blends personal development, business acumen, fearlessness and a commitment to premium patient care. At this year’s Moments of Change Conference, Medivance Billing Service founder, Neisha Zaffuto will present the “Power Woman Workshop” with a panel of experts to discuss relevant issues facing women of all stripes in mental health, substance abuse and eating disorder treatment programs. In addition to Mrs. Zaffuto, other panelists include: eating disorder advocate and entrepreneur, Johanna Kandel, treatment center executive, Paige Bottom and behavioral healthcare pioneer, Rebecca Flood.

Upon completion of this workshop attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize and help to break down the barriers that exists for women in the behavioral healthcare industry and beyond
  • Speak about the tools necessary to install a “power woman mindset
  • Provide motivation and drive to the next generation of “power women”

Neisha Zaffuto went on to say: “As leaders in the behavioral healthcare, women bring firsthand views as customers. They can then help define and improve these experiences, making the behavioral healthcare system more user friendly, convenient, and efficient. As healthcare professionals, women bring empathy and increased communication skills. This is an industry where women can naturally lead.”
