Restoration Counseling & Community Services, LLC (RCCS) has completed a recapitalization with private equity firm Latticework Capital Management. While the firm owns a controlling stake of the business, Paul Kustermann, founder and CEO, will maintain minority interest and will continue to lead RCCS.

The CARF-accredited organization specializes in treating behavioral health needs for individuals transitioning from the criminal justice system, providing chemical dependency treatment, cognitive moral restructuring intervention and life skill services. Intensive outpatient and sober living levels of care are offered. Additionally, RCCS is the only community-based provider in Minnesota that employs certified staff who are qualified to conduct criminal risk assessments, according to its website.

Mertz Taggart provided RCCS exclusive sell side advisory services. According to Kevin Taggart, managing partner, RCCS will use the capital to make enterprise enhancements with the goal of expanding the organization’s scale into other states.

“It’s another example of private equity partnering with an existing provider to help serve more people in need,” Taggart tells Behavioral Healthcare.
