Addiction Campuses has acquired Tampa-based Recovery Now Network (RNN), a marketing and business development firm. According to Addiction Campuses CEO Brent Clements, the acquisition is part of the company’s five-year strategic plan.

“We’ve committed to close or do a de novo project every six months for the next five years,” Clements tells Behavioral Healthcare. “The Recovery Now acquisition is a business development, marketing and digital play for us, so it helps us in many areas of our business.”

He says it’s difficult to reach the people who are in need of addiction treatment, and the expertise of RNN will be leveraged to bridge the gap.

“At the end of the day, we’re trying to figure out how we get in front of families and individuals who struggle with the disease of addiction,” Clements says. “It’s difficult to engage these families and individuals to get them to make a decision to enter treatment. It’s probably the hardest thing that we do.”

With a combined 40 years of knowledge, the RNN team has a clinical background as well as expertise in business development and getting facilities off the ground. Some of the experience will be helpful in Addiction Campuses’ de novo activities, he says.

From RNN, Eric Mitchell will be joining Addiction Campuses as chief marketing officer, and John Daily will join as vice president of digital marketing.

Clements says the first task will be to integrate the new unit within the larger organization and then to take a look at the big-picture approaches to efficiency and delivering effective messages. RNN will move from its current home in Tampa to the Addiction Campuses headquarters in Nashville.
