Theresa Fawvor, LCSW

Senior Director, Behavioral Health Services

Memorial Hermann Health System

Houston, Texas Theresa Fawvor leads the Behavioral Health Services initiatives for Memorial Hermann Health System, and under her leadership, a specialized psychiatric response team treats more than 6,000 crisis patients annually across nine hospital emergency departments. The assessment program has served as a model for other organizations across the country.

Several intervention projects have led to community improvements. For example, a case management program guides underserved patients for 90 days after they seek emergency treatment to offer adherence tools and reduce recidivism. To reduce wait times for crisis treatment, Fawvor was instrumental in launching four mental health crisis clinics in underserved areas. She is active in professional licensing associations and serves as a mentor, supervisor and instructor for interns and other licensed social workers coming into the profession. Outside of the clinical space, she is also engaged in legislative activities to advocate for improved access to behavioral health services for Texans.

“Theresa is highly organized and thrives on creating efficient solutions to problems involving the delivery health services to people across the community, regardless of their socio-economic or health status. She is an effective communicator and a ‘roll up her sleeves,’ action-oriented individual,” says Matthew Feehery, CEO.
