Pitts named to CompCare board

Tampa, Fla. — Comprehensive Care Corp. (CompCare), a provider of behavioral health, substance abuse and employee assistance programs for governmental agencies, managed care companies and employer groups, has announced the appointment of healthcare consultant David R. Pitts to its Board of Directors.

With more than 40 years of healthcare experience, Pitts has served as a consultant to CompCare and as Chairman of the Company’s Advisory Board since September 2009.

“I am pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Pitts to our Board of Directors," said Clark A. Marcus, CompCare’s chairman and CEO. "As Chairman of our Advisory Board, he has provided our executive team with invaluable insight as we have worked to develop new initiatives that help drive our Company’s expansion efforts. Moving further into 2011, I believe Mr. Pitts will prove to be an even greater asset to our Company as a member of the Board of Directors.”

Pitts is chairman and CEO of Pitts Management Associates, a healthcare consulting firm that has advised managed care organizations, hospitals, and other industry clients since 1981. He is also the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baton Rouge General Health System, and President and a Member of the Board of Directors of Health Insights, a national healthcare think tank.

Pitts is chairman of the Board of Directors of Business First Bank of Louisiana, a holding company with banks in six cities; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Church Investment Group; and a member of the North American Advisory Board of Sodexo, a multinational corporation which designs, manages and delivers on-site service solutions and motivation solutions.

Since 1997, Pitts has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Amedisys Inc., a publicly traded provider of home healthcare and hospice services. Previously, he held the positions of Executive Director and CEO of Ochsner Foundation Hospitals and Executive Vice President of Ochsner Medical Institutions.

Pitts holds a Masters in both Healthcare Administration and Public Administration, and full professorship on two university faculties. He is also a highly regarded national speaker on the healthcare industry.
