Defran Systems, Inc., has launched Human Services Spotlight (www.humanservicesspotlight.com), a comprehensive news portal and industry resource for behavioral healthcare, social services, and developmental disabilities providers.

The site pulls together current news stories from leading industry blogs and publications in one single location, enabling organizations to stay up-to-date with all segments of the dynamic human services field.

"Human Services Spotlight was created to benefit the entire human services industry," said Fran Loshin-Turso, president and CEO, Defran Systems, Inc. "Through this resource we hope to better inform and educate organizations about critical issues that affect them. In this way, they can better adapt to the rapidly evolving technological landscape in which we all operate."

Human Services Spotlight posts relevant updates about important industry trends, such as how Meaningful Use and Congressional budget legislation will affect provider organizations. It also features webinar announcements, frequently asked questions, resources and information about electronic health systems for human services agencies. This information is compiled by industry experts at Defran and can assist providers whose time constraints restrict their ability to perform thorough independent research.

"It's important to hear everyone's perspective, from child and family services to behavioral health, and from large, multi-state agencies to smaller providers," added Loshin-Turso. "Our industry is currently undergoing a lot of change, whether the New York Office for People with Disabilities is undergoing reform or the government is increasing its crackdown on misspent Medicare and Medicaid money. By creating a centralized resource that focuses on the most relevant material, we can leverage our twenty-five years of industry experience to ensure the entire provider community is ready to deal with whatever will come."

In addition to strengthening the health IT and human services media landscape, Human Services Spotlight also encourages comments from readers, fostering intelligent discussion by staff at all levels across the country and in every part of the industry.
