Michael Cannizzaro, chairman and chief executive officer of Behavioral Health Group (BHG), recently announced the acquisition of Midsouth Treatment Center, a medically supervised treatment center for pain pill and opioid addiction, including methadone, counseling, and referral, located in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Midsouth Treatment Center was owned by Elizabeth Tyus, RN and Rachel Farmer, M.D., who will remain as Medical Director of the newly named BHG Dyersburg Treatment Center during the transition phase. Cannizzaro said, "We are excited to welcome the Midsouth Treatment Center staff and over 330 patients to the BHG experience of care."

The addition of the new BHG Dyersburg Treatment Center brings the total number of facilities in the organization’s network of outpatient opioid treatment programs to 32.

Tyus expressed satisfaction with the acquisition process, "I was happy to see that our selection to work with BHG ensured our ability to provide a continuity of care throughout Tennessee."
