The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, Minn., has selected the web-based CareLogic Enterprise electronic health record (EHR) from Qualifacts Systems Inc., a SaaS provider of EHR and billing systems, for behavioral health and human services providers.
The Foundation was seeking an integrated EHR and practice management system that would enable tracking and managing client progress and outcomes, provide better business intelligence to manage Wilder programs, and ensure compliance with federal and state standards and mandates for interoperability and meaningful use. Qualifacts CareLogic was selected as the cornerstone of this effort.
“In implementing this software, Wilder has high expectations for improving our organizational efficiency as we, like many, operate with fewer resources,” says Colleen Mlecoch, Information Services Director at the Foundation. “And because our staff provide services in schools, homes and other community locations, a web-based solution is perfect for us, providing secure access to clinical information when and where we need it.”
“We are excited by the addition of the Foundation to our growing list of Minnesota behavioral health clients,” says Jason Medlin, vice president of sales for Qualifacts. “Among their key decision factors was the alignment of corporate visions, the sustainable nature of our business model, the continuous improvements being made to our Software as a Service (SaaS) solution and our leading position and involvement in the ongoing meaningful use national dialogue.”
CareLogic will be implemented in all direct services programs in the Children and Family Services and Community Services for Aging divisions. This includes the Child Guidance Clinic, specialized case management, school or home-based services to children and adults with behavioral health issues, community support services to Southeast Asian families, Adult Day Health and Memory Loss services to elders and Caregiver support services.
Currently the two divisions utilize separate practice management systems and paper based clinical records.
“The real reason we chose Qualifacts was the opportunity for a more client-centered approach to managing our service data,” Mlecoch continues. “Many of our young clients participate in several programs at the Foundation and it can be a challenge to see their goals and progress as an integrated whole. We are counting on CareLogic to help us better coordinate their care.”
Qualifacts' web-based, Enterprise CareLogic service includes comprehensive, integrated clinical, financial, reporting and administrative information management capabilities, which improve clinical workflow, revenue cycle management and operational transparency.
