Swine flu—will the economy affect its spread?

As fears about “swine flu” grow, an already stressed out country will have yet one more problem to tax their mental health. I wonder if the recent upsurge in unemployment—and subsequent increase in the number of those without health insurance—will allow this bug to spread more quickly. If so, perhaps those lawmakers balking at healthcare reform legislation will be more motivated to support it.
