Despite a stumbling economy, attendance at theNational Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare’s annual conference in San Antonio this week appeared to be strong, although some wondered if it would drop next year as budget cuts now being planned take hold. Many seemed pleased with this year’s wide range of topics and activities but many hungered for more information specifically on how the federal government’s stimulus funding will impact behavioral healthcare organizations and their IT operations. For their part, exhibitors generally were pleased with this year’s exhibit hall, which was a great improvement over last year’s show in
Boston where low ceilings and a circuitous layout challenged vendors and attendees alike. Outside the exhibit hall was a resource center on social media, and for more on the National Council’s emphasis on Web 2.0, click
